However, this would not be the first time that performance has been quite variable between supposedly identical models. Data is stopped to receive calls on the non-data enabled SIM. If you push it to 5. Anyone know if the Uk version uses same frequencies as the Australian? I ordered bookcase type covers from phonenatic in Germany.

I am running my M on CM11 and I am very happy with it. In general, I get the impression that the Moto phones have gone downhill since Motorola sold that part of their business. Is it seriously worth the dollars to buy. The fact that a relatively cheap smartphone had such a decent performance and a smooth user interface was a major part of their earlier appeal.

However, this would not be the first time that performance has been quite variable between supposedly identical models. How are you finding the camera responsiveness on this phone? I have the Nexus 5, horrible camera on it, the focus is useless.

Again trying to compare my current and this phone, and am I reading this incorrectly, but the CPU power, etc is more on Nexus than Moto G? A gen 2 and recently the G4. There is absolutely nothing in terms of performance I would classify as even remotely "sluggish" so far.

Is it as fast as the seemingly slightly unhinged reviewer "Mr Waaah! I found little to almost nothing in the review that amounted to any objective assessment, so I paid it little heed when deciding whether to plunk my money down.

I was a big fan of Motorola phones, but I think they have just about lost me as a customer! Decent size, most of the bloat can be disabled Not a razr m yet the closest I could find in size, specs are similar to the M.

There is a new model coming sometime this year? Have a look mormopterus. My other half needs a working dual sim phone so I will probably pick up the Moto 4G for her. Such conflicting reports on it though: Had that feeling too when I got the Moto 2nd Gen.

I still have a Moto G Gen1 and am just waiting to see what the deal is with the "overheating issue". The G1 was adequate for my use of 2 sims, casual photos, google maps, email, social media. The only thing that I wished it had was NFC.

The model is XT and I checked the specs before. Band 28 is in. Fast, awesome camera, no bloatware from our usual supplier Telstra, no phone manufacturer bloatware, no overheating. Not sure if I will get it yet. I put my S5 Duos alongside it and was surprised at how little difference in size there was.

Will post some pics soon. Does anyone know where we can actually trial a live phone? Good Guys only had a dummy phone, I would love to actually see how the camera, etc performs. Good Guys only had a dummy phone,.

Well coming from a iPhone 6. I had posted some of this previously The retail 16G model is XT The box provides very little. Has 2 sim slots plus SD slot. Takes either nano via trays provided or micro sim natively.

There has been ZERO heat issues. NO performance sluggishness observerd — zip, nudda. Not sure how some could say there was Certainly not from what I use or would use. But if one wanted mega performance regardless, why would you go for a mid range package?

Battery is better than I thought Only area I have not really tested properly is for more specialised Nav. Seems to run G Maps and turn by turn fine from a short test I did, but it has no compass I am not a moto fanboy etc For me it has delivered on all I wanted which was to eliminate the double up work and personal phones, good app running and net, and be able to take quality pics at a snap.

Hey, thanks for excellent feedback. Most phones with dual sims only give you either second sim or memory. So this is a huge plus for me. Hopefully there are no issues with that. Not entirely sure how having no compass will affect it, if someone could shine some light on this — would be great!

I currently have Nexus 5, 3 years old now, need to upgrade and also 2 sims is a must. Unfortunately these new hybrid trays which save space seem to be becoming more common.. A few hours of use and I am very happy with this.

A big plus for me is that I live and work in an area that is 3G only, so the duos was a bit of a letdown. On another note anyone know if you can get a screen protector for the Moto G4 plus. Tempered glass screens are available on ebay.

I had a mob of cattle go over my S5 and it looked smashed beyond repair, but when I peeled the tempered glass screen off, there was absolutely no damage to the screen. Hehe, luckily the chance of that happens to my phone is very slim to none.

Our cart is currently unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience. Hey so with this no-compass thing, what exactly does this effect? Will it compromise some apps? Up to date example would be Pokemon Go, but there are tons of other apps that may use this feature.

Anyone can shed some light on this please? Would anyone be able to shed some light on why JB Hi-Fi have not heard of this phone? The Moto g 4 plus has a better camera and finger-print sensor compared to the Moto G4 , which is not important to me.

Seemingly just on the moto website when they get the cart working: Whoever owns the phone — have you tried playing any 3D games on it? How does it perform? Considering Motorola was "unveiling" their Australian online store today, you should be able to purchase direct from the Moto Store as soon as the cart starts working.

Considering Motorola was "unveiling" their Australian online store today,. Anyone know where a person can get a screen protector for this phone. Did you not see this Spider — whrl. What happens if I go to a remote area where Telstra only has 3G coverage?

Will both Telstra and Optus sim running in 3G mode? Do you mean "Does the Telstra chip revert to 3G? I do use 2 sims Telstra for work and Virgin for private. And sometimes I have to go to regional areas.

Later this year both Telstra and Optus are going to cut off 2G network. The other option could be a Xiaomi Mi5, but have to buy a grey import and not sure it has Band 28 or not. Also yes not everyone is interested in NFC but Android Pay just launched in Australia last week and more and more banks will get on board.

If you want to be future proof and want a good resale value on the phone then NFC is must now. How on earth would you know the Moto is bad phone or not. Good old Australia tax on top of course.

Same with the other thread on the Desire The phones cost very little to produce but as soon as they land here, BOOM, fat price rise. A colleague at work got one from India and I have tried it out although only for a couple of minutes.

Camera is good, build feels average and the front fingerprint reader is weird without it being a home button too. Which will likely change once 2G is switch by some carriers at the end of year.

Certainly in the medium price range. Looks like you can now buy 16 and 32gig from Motorola website. I can understand paying more for RAM but storage is not really an issue with Marshmallow because you can set the ext card as internal.

I only found that last night and now have it on my 16G moto G4 plus. Seems to work really well. No dual sim though, which is the major reason anyone would consider the G4. My current Nexus 5 has major issues with GPS locks even after a few "interesting" attempts at fixing For me personally, I often use Google maps to get around walking , especially while travelling.

Does google maps not work at all, or is it just less accurate when walking? I used Here maps for walking when I was in Amsterdam , the only problem with not having a compass is you dont know which direction you are facing when you set off.

I had to look at the screen to check I was going in the right direction whenever I started navigation. Once I was going in the right direction Here maps worked great , I could keep the phone in my pocket and it would vibrate when I had to make a turn Anyone been able to fix a super slow phone?

Even entering my passcode is a nightmare. I got one today from Officeworks. Price matched Mobile Citi. She read the price wrong though and put it through as , so got it for But that may be a few months away yet — who knows.

In the meantime, they have the dual sim market pretty much to themselves in Oz. Reviews seem to say the Moto G4 not the G4 plus is the one to go for but i cant seem to find anyone selling the former anymore?.

ADSL User writes It sounds like the first two generations of Moto G would have been perfect at the time. What alternatives to this one are people considering ie same price range, good performance, not necessarily dual SIM? And for how much longer are they likely to?

However, they do allow you to fill out the forms and drop it into the bin and they will process it later The bin was actually a large recycle bin! I was unsure because the security officer who told us about the alternate method had walked off.

My TRS refund paper work was posted back to me about 2 weeks afterwards along with the paper work I supplied which was photo-copies of the receipts, so if you use this method remember to take photo-copies first.

It was certainly better than standing in the queue for 40 mins. All up I was in and out in about 10 mins. The K10 has a 5. All that means nothing if it performs like poop and will just give me a headache in the long run.

Well three things if you include taking pictures and video separately. The scuttlebut is that after about 15 minutes of continuous gaming, photo-taking or video recording, the processor gets noticeably hot, which in turn causes it to throttle performance.

Or let the video record for that long. No more so than often happens with my S5. I found it lagging once for about 3 minutes. Very annoying while it happened but then came good. I figured that something must have been running in the background.

My thoughts on the G4 plus after about 10 days: All of my comparisons are to the S5, although age of technology should be comparing to S7. But that would be comparing mid-range to high-range.

So make want you want of my comments I am disappointed in it not having NFC minor inconvenience , wireless charging minor inconvenience , IR also minor inconvenience , and lack of waterproofing major concern.

Dual SIM operation main reason for purchase is much better and easier than the S5. Screen visability is better than the S5 — I always had to use my glasses before, now only sometimes.

General ease of use is MUCH better. Fingerprint recognition is very good and I use it all the time, unlike the S5 in which I gave up. Initially it was a bit annoying to have the soft buttons on the screen and for them to be in mirror positions to the S5, I have quickly become used to it.

I am also often finding myself trying to use the fingerprint scanner as a home button, but I will become used to it. Battery usage is very good even without running in battery save mode. Responsiveness is far better than the S5 with the exception of the time mentioned above.

Overall — I am very happy with the phone and find it such a pleasure to use that I am often leaving my Galaxy Note Added note about lack of water proofing and removed incorrect comment about turning on internet sharing.

Well, for me, that was the critical feature I was looking for. Just phone, text, and mobile Internet access reading news, google maps, music streaming — maybe take the odd photo. I like the big screen. Turning on internet sharing is a drawn out procedure, so I will probably install an app.

That was a big advantage on my previous phone. I take back my comment. Anyone ordered from Moto online? I was wondering how long it takes to deliver. Has anyone found a good source for cases, screen protectors etc?

Do any of the little shops in the shopping centres stock stuff for this phone yet? Mrs will kill me if I buy the phone without a case and break it. Judging from the comments im actually quite tempted to get this. Hard to beat for what we are after dual sim, pic quality and battery life as well as what I have babbled on about before.

I ordered bookcase type covers from phonenatic in Germany. Hard to beat for what we are after dual sim, pic quality and battery life. I wanted to get something before dropping the phone so ordered this on ebay.

Very happy with the delivery time free postage. Much better than what I was expecting. Is there any info online about the real life performance difference between 2gb and 3gb ram models? No, which would have been unfortunate because I am extremely happy with it: I put a large sdcard in it and used the MarshMallow feature of installing the external card as internal — so the 16GB is inconsequential.

About time that feature was implemented. My Ace III was constantly running out of space full of immovable apps with 4gb internal. Seems they would though. This is my thinking. The Dual SIM does nothing for me personally.

I want something fast with a good screen and camera. I have no doubt this phone does everything Bruce wants it to do well and thus suits him down to the ground. The Tax Refund Scheme is rebate you can claim when leaving Australia.

Claims are processed at the airport. You need to show them the product and the receipt and it has to be done within Think im just gonna settle on the LG K It actually only has 2gb ram after all and a compass which I really want for maps, and is sadly lacking in the Moto G4 series.

Only major drawback is the terrible Chinese software overlay. If I could strip it all out and put a clean, bloatware free version of Marshmallow on there by rooting or something I did post about some drawbacks whrl. I might use it if I wanted to buy something that way and Wireless charging would possibly be convenient I guess.

Not too concerned about it though. I think quick charging would be more useful for me when travelling. Hi all considering getting this phone but wondering if the lack of compass should worry me or not. What is the drawback of not having one?

I think it also reduces functionality in Pokemon Go, if that concerns you, and likely a handful of other apps. Pretty much just maps for me though. Also how does the clear case look on a black phone? Any recommendations for a tempered glass screen protector?

I find the edge grippy and the back glossy and sometimes slippery. The case works well. There is a template supplied to make your own custom back cutout if you want. Some covers make it a challenge to take screenshots, this one makes them easier.

So you reckon the smoke black is the one to get? I am very interested in the Motorola Moto G4 32Gb model, has anyone got one yet, and are they any good? See how much of a difference that extra gig of ram makes. Suspect the usual grey import issues Its coming from Kogan HK..

Also no claiming back the GST if youre travelling soon. With you all the way about the extra 16gb of internal storage being inconsequential. But yeah, I want that extra ram, I think. Do you guys mind sharing how to buy this?

That was only a picture. Never ordered online before but after checking with nearly every store in Brisbane, i dont have much choice: Search for the following on eBay: Its a pity they didnt make it a 5" phone in the body size of a 4.

Modern phone screen to size ratio is poor. So, from my point of view, Kogan is fine if there is nothing wrong with the product, any warranty issues — just a pain: Kogan is fine if there is nothing wrong with the product, any warranty issues — just a pain: Thanks for the heads up on Kogan, I dont like spending money with companies where the service stops after they take your money at point of sale, just not worth the time.

Not a mobile, but I have bought lots of things from kogan including a moto 3G , only item that failed was a kettle after 6 months. Kogan wanted proof that I still had it photo. Then offered store credit or money back. Got money in 2 days.

My G4 plus 32GB arrived today. So far so good apart from the case I ordered needed some adjusting as it kept pressing the off button. I should point out that it is hard to see anything obvious to say it is charging, especially if like me you wear glasses normally.

Slightly disappointed with my battery life coming from the redmi note 3. Not entirely unexpected though given Pokemon go is a thing. Call quality decent too? I keep comparing to my previous phone Samsung S5 and call quality has been a big improvement.

The speaker is surprisingly good considering it is the same one for on and off speakerphone. Both quality and volume of the speakerphone are an improvement on the S5. Where are you seeing that mate? This is about the same as my Lumia Phone calls were a bit lighter today then normal but I did play with the phone itself more then usual.

Is there a call duration log? Has anyone bought this phone through good guys also bought the extended warranty they have. Now active matrix has become so mainstream they dropped the AM. You are right though about Samsung having another dubious product name for LCD: Now that one is clearly trying to play the OLED fake out game with its name.

Have you noticed any issues with burn-in on your OLED? Or is it something manufacturers have addressed satisfactorily? All I can tell you is do not use any source that produces static images for a long period of time. I dont know if they will ever be able to fully fix that, it is an inherent aspect of OLED panels.

Just for an example, I can reasonably produce a burned in image within 3 days on every Samsung OLED phone I have recent or older with one single app I know about its a game that leaves a static white button on the top left of the sceen.

What I would say is use your TV for movies and shows and you should be ok. But for other use cases like gaming etc, I would get an LCD. Only one thing, really; marginally better placement of the fingerprint scanner. I like the Bixby button now.

Mine bootlooped 10 months after I got it. Will this phone be compatible with mhz?? Ok mhz is band Witch one is band 66? How could you check what bands are on the phone? Heres hoping the software is good. I need to get away from ios 11 asap.

No thanks LG is anti developer. Did you pick the iPhone 8 over the iPhone X? Lui ou le One Plus 3? Il travail pour ZTE mdr!! La version Go sortira t-elle en France? Le support de la bande des Mhz est un vrai plus….

Update [October 25, ]: Samsung today updated its SideSync app, that is exclusive to its Galaxy devices only, to inform all those interested that the app now supports Android 7. By now, you may already be knowing that mobile devices on Android get software version upgrades for around two years since their release. Galaxy Note 7 is expected the receive the Nougat update before other Note sets, naturally, and that may happen after around one month of the release of the Galaxy S7 7.

The Nougat roadmap for Samsung Turkey has been updated to reveal that the release dates for the Galaxy A series have now been postponed to 24th April for the Galaxy A3 and the fourth week of May for the Galaxy A5 and A7 Australian carrier Optus has confirmed the Galaxy A5 Nougat update today, even revealing that the update has reached them from Samsung for testing.

Optus plans to finish the testing soon, and is targeting the Android 7. We hope other regions and unlocked Galaxy A5 sets will be receiving the Nougat update too in January Chinese can expect to see Android 7.

That price segment is such, unless it belongs to online-only or almost that! Samsung is promoting the likes of Galaxy J5 and J7 a lot, even hiring a well-paid actor in India to make these two devices extremely popular, so updating these two sets would be crucial for Samsung, and doing so on time, a winning card.

The above sets are long forgotten, except by truly awesome Android development community who have already bestowed some of these with unofficial Android 7. On ne vous parle pas toujours du packaging des smartphones, car il est souvent assez classique.

They still have a ways to go on brightness, but its better than my Plasma and thats high praise. That Amoled is loose marketing term associated with Samsung for super lcd???? I hope to see first hand this device. I just hope they apply 6gb of ram, or consider it dated.

Yes I was referring to the LG. Its because in the past only passive OLEDs were used. Now active matrix has become so mainstream they dropped the AM. This review also says it gets very hot with anything but light usage https: US pricing and availability information — http: So definitely some Australia Tax, but it just seems India is cheap I suspect retail distribution costs are much cheaper in India.

AU price is on par with older Moto G. Not many phones that are better value in Australia local market without going grey import. Just picked up a Moto G4 plus this morning from Goodguys Capalaba. Camera is impressive too.

They have 2 left in stock Just double check before i get one, are they water resistant or just the moto G3? May i ask those that have one how do you find it regarding over heating? Is it an issue as many people are saying? Have not felt any heat issues so far.

Have taken a few pics this arvo out walking around Takes a great photo from what I am used to. Also really like the flexibility in the way the SIM selection works If someone has bought this phone in Oz could you please see what happens when you install a compass app.

I like the phone but I need to be able to have a usable compass. Thanks for checking that I was set on buying this phone to replace my n4 but without the compass I will need to look elsewhere. I know it will still show your location via GPS but does it show which way your facing with a little pointer like other phones???

Does our version support band 28 mhz? A Google search of XT brings up various sites with specifications, but none of which mention Band Perhaps someone here who has recently bought one locally can tell us which SKU is being sold in Australia, and which bands it supports???

That page also says, "Band coverage varies by model, country, and carrier. So there is a model of this phone that supports band 28 the band used by the dominant carrier in this country. I have a UK dual sim Moto G4. Is there anyway I can check if I have band 28?

My Aussie retail model is the XT Specs on web report yes to Band Have used it alot over the weekend taking heaps of pics etc. You can swap data usage over within a few secs. Have made and received calls and data on both Battery usage so far I reckon is v good Pictures and videos make it appear pretty thick but hard to tell just how thick.

No probs for me My only beef with it is the length, but that is probably due to previously having a small phone. Officeworks sell this phone to http: Even a 5" phone will dig into your flesh when you try to sit down let alone 5.

Most of them are dead on 5" and a lot are China phones. The small few left that are sub 5" have weak cameras. Your only real choice is a Z3 or Z5 compact. My wife caused me such a big run around trying to find a decent small phone with a decent camera.

There really is pretty much nothing out there. Resurrecting and older phone with a custom ROM is also a good option. Your search includes 5" phones. I currently have the Razr M which is 4. There are only 2 phones in that size up to 4.

Not going to buy a Sony, sorry. I am just hoping that it will last long enough until something better hits the market! HTC M7 can also be picked up cheap, though no water resistance or remove able battery. S5 mini with cyanogennod is a good combo Did that for a friend not long ago.

Those that have this phone already, how are you finding the performance? Crikey that dude certainly put the boots in. I find it a great phone for the money. Camera in my opinion is the best I have used, and performance is tops for anything I do on it This is good to hear.

Mobileciti list it at months. Good point, I just checked the warranty book that came with my OW bought unit and it says 12 months for Aus. Quite a few people in this thread have been advising that local warranty is 24 months, so its something new buyers need to consider.

When I asked the OW clerk he said 2 years. And I thought all mobile phones were 2 years these days?!? In Australia we are blessed with "consumer guarantee" https: Overall happy with the phone so far and speed of 4g on Telstra.

Speaker is good, though I am used to the stereo speakers on the Moto 2nd Gen so going back to a single speaker is hard. However, it seems to be a good phone for the price I got it for. I would expect laptop to work without issues much more than standard 12 month warranty from Apple.

How is everyone finding the 2Gb model, I would have thought they may be laggy now, I have an Asus Zenfone2, 2Gb model, and it is annoying, and is there anywhere besides Kogan selling the 3Gb model in Aus?

They were out of stock of the black so I got the White instead there was a week or 2 wait for the black. My local OW branch had mobilecity listed as a grey import and refused to do the discount at first. I had to wait around a bit for someone with the authority to check out the website on one of their laptops, in which I showed him the "Warranty Info" section of the site.

Everything went okay and I was given an apology by the lady at the checkout I was sort of treated with disrespect, all good. Tried adding another finger but still fails. Anyone had any luck?

Does the screen protector cover the finger sensor or is it cut out? Just wanted to check if someone has a screen protector on and uses finger scan. I had a stack of phones with NFC but between Google and the Aussie banks nothing useful happened with it in Australia.

No compass and no NFC is strange given that these are near standard offerings on current phones. NFC is no loss, but a compass is for some of the little Apps i have taken a shine to. I use it to turn things on and off. Just a little easier than having to use short cuts on the phone.

This is a little bit of a pain as well. You would think by now the cheapest option would be a one package gyro, accelerometer and magnet sensor as well, but may be the first two interfere with the last. Big enough that I had to use my power bank to keep it going after a heavy pokehunt.

Never had to before on the xiaomi. First strange problem with my G4 plus. I have my Bluetooth paired with 2 Work vehicles I commonly use. Phone said it is connected to one of the vehicles. The Snapdragon supports Cat7 from memory Got my Ringke case in smoke black three days after ordering and highly rate this case.

Looks great, adds alot of protection and grip to the phone without too much bulk. Not sure why, but still waiting for my tempered glass from a different Brisbane-based seller even though I ordered at the same time.

Got one for my Nexus 4 and excellent quality. The one we got for G3 not quite as good a fit but still very happy. Will most likely get one for next phone too. I bought my G4 plus 32g from Motorola about 2 weeks ago.

I am familiar with APNs and there is no problem in this area. So the purpose of this message is two fold:. I can highly recommend both this particular phone case and also this particular QLD based seller. Has anyone else found that the WiFi hotspot only works on 2.

And yes, I am looking for it with a device that covers all the 5 GHz channels. Seems that I was wrong about my Asus tablet being able to see all the 5 GHz channels. They also have stores in shopping centres PTC name? Is there any way to fix this?

Anyone received and fitted screen protector yet? Would like feedback and place of purchase. I am getting a refund for mine as the finger cutout is missing. Shipping from HK but with 1 year AU warranty apparently.

One bit that concerns me is this, which may be a mistake: Yeah I found this annoying too, the only way I can see to change the sim is before you type the msg by clicking the circle to the right of the message pane.

Once you have started typing the message it changes to the send button. I thought they got caught doing this before. Yeah thats the OW shame game. They hope you will just pay them the list price, sadly it must work for them too.

Been down the road at Maroochydore, so much so Id have to save a lot before Id enter an OW store again. Disque dure externe sa existe. Oui surtout que pour la musique le s7 prend en compte du flac 25mo une chanson pour moi en 24bits.
